Well it absolutely kills me to tell you that it looks like Ireland will be returning to full lockdown. Heartbreaking and soul destroying for us all. Government are currently in meetings and all we are getting are leaks about what might or might not happen. This I often think is worse. Speculation on line can be very damaging and cause huge anxiety for many. So the sooner announcements are made the better for us all. What is likely is that everything will shut down again. Like in March. Except for services deemed to be essential. The fact that Off Licences are considered essential, is quiet essentially Irish. Yet any form of physical training, which is essential for physical and mental health, will be shut. Mind boggles.
Airports and our borders remain open with little to no monitoring of people when they arrive into Ireland. Again, mind boggles. So many contradictions and so many repercussions. Many face unemployment and many shops, restaurants theatres and small business face closure for good. It's bleak times we are living through.
However, don't get me wrong, I believe in doing the best we can to get through this. I just don't believe complete lockdown is the answer. For me personally, I will be powering through as best I can and hope to have the new album available to you all very soon. It is just proving more and more challenging as the days pass.
Of course when it is released I don't know what level of promotion I will be able to do, but will do whatever I can, and will hope to get some support from the media. Either way, it was made for all of you, so once you get it and hear it, I will be happy.
I am a very positive person and will continue to be so. Just some days are proving challenging during this Pandemic. As Im sure it is for many of you. We need to try our best to keep motoring and keep positive. All things pass. Good and bad.
My family are all well and my grandmother who is 101 is the one I feel for the most. She is not allowed visitors and I have not seen her in person since February. She is quite confused as to where we have all vanished to, and that breaks my heart the most. She is like many her age, and they deserve so much to be around their loved ones in their final days. But we have to follow orders for the best interest of everyone.
Anyway, lets just hope it passes soon and that we will all be together for Christmas. I miss touring hugely and miss seeing you all in person. I can only hope that day will come again soon. I will never moan about lines at airports or early morning flights. Or TSA checks!!! Oh to be in a line at an airport today!!!
Keep well folks. Keep healthy and please follow the guidelines given out by the doctors, scientists and healthcare providers.
Wear a mask, wash hands regularly and social distance. Im assured, and believe, this is the only way we can beat this.
Much love

We are so close to finishing the new album and I genuinely cannot wait for you to all hear it. Unfortunately we took a slight set back this week due to new COVID restrictions here in Ireland, however we worked around it and got to get a lot done. That being said, I was due to finish my vocals on a few of the tracks and then as Murphy would have it, I got a head cold. So I went into lockdown and drugged up!! Thankfully after a couple of days it cleared and I should be back in studio on Monday to finish up. I would think by Wednesday, my contributions to the creative side will be done. Then it's over to Gavin Murphy to add a few "bells and whistles", get it polished and then....boom, it will be out there! Thank you all for your patience on this project. Obviously with COVID19 it has taken far longer than I hoped, to get finished. And may even be a week or two later than I currently expect. Each week throws new obstacles to overcome. However, we will overcome and get it done. When it is released, I will be depending on you all, "Paul's Apostles" to spread the word about the album and get people on board!
In other news, I sat this week for the first time in well over a year to watch my TV special that was made back in 2013. I was asked to see if it was possible to edit it for Irish audiences. Which I'm glad to say it can, and hopefully that will lead to some more news for my Irish following in the coming weeks. However, I watched it with such fond memories, and was reminded of all the support I got then from so many of you. So many, that it is incredible to think, so many are still following me, still supporting and more importantly, still believing in me.
I miss touring so much. I can't even begin to emphasise that. I know many of us artists are the same, and returning to normal seems a million years away from that. It seems mad that I am releasing one of my biggest albums yet, and wont be able to tour it immediately after release. Which many in the game suggest, is madness. However, despite it potentially harming my sales and charting, I feel new music at a time like this, is the best gift I can give. So hang tight, it's coming.
One last thing before I go. Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day, and I wanted to briefly touch on this. We are all going through a world pandemic. NONE of us are immune, as this past week has highlighted. However, as well as being conscious of COVID, we need to be conscious of our mental health. Both need to be taken extremely seriously. Like covid, we need to also be socially aware. Check in on our friends and family. In particular those that are living alone. A simple 'how are you?" can change someones day.....even week. In the same way, if someone asks you, tell them. Talk. Share whatever your anxieties or fears are. Talk about what's bothering you or bringing you down. I promise, talking always helps. Helps yourself, and can help others. Be aware of how important your mental health is. Be aware of how important you are.
Take care and chat soon

Welcome to the new site. I am delighted to have finally updated my page and the pictures represent the man I am today. Not the boy I was on the last site. A few more wrinkles and a few grey hairs. But still the same guy!! Aiming to bring my music to you, where ever you are in the world.
It always bothered me that people couldn't get my full catalogue of music and that they had to search for previous albums, often paying well over the odds. So at last you can do it all from here.
As you know I am working hard on finishing my latest album and hope to have it out to you by the end of this month. I am so excited about it as I think it is my most commercial and crossover album to date. The arrangements by Gavin Murphy are outstanding and the orchestra is sublime. I just hope my voice matches up to the quality being already brought to the table. Soon you will hear and be the judges of that.
Anyway, I thank you for your patience on this so far and hope it will be worth it for you. In the meantime I hope you enjoy the new site and that you check in regularly here for blogs and updates. Please subscribe too. Just head to the bottom of the page and enter your email. Simple!!! I promise not to bother you with spam and advertising. Just the occasional offer or news update.
In the meantime, keep well and healthy and we will chat soon
